Planned

Clean Water Initiatives and Community Wellbeing

A planned priority for ZAWF: exploring clean water initiatives with underserved communities in Pakistan. We have not yet reported any completed water projects.

Why It Matters

Safe Water Touches Everything

Safe drinking water affects a family’s health, daily routine and peace of mind. When water is hard to reach or unsafe to drink, it can affect a child’s wellbeing and ability to attend school, and it adds to the burden on households.

Our Goal

Listen First, Plan Responsibly

We hope to identify communities with inadequate water access, explore resources and partnerships, and create initiatives that last. Any project would begin with understanding local needs rather than assumptions.

How a Project Could Work

From Need to Lasting Access

1. Assess

Understand the community’s real needs together with local people.

2. Check Feasibility

Seek qualified advice on water quality, technical options and approvals.

3. Plan and Fund

Agree a clear scope, a budget and suitable partners.

4. Sustain

Agree local oversight and maintenance, so that access can last.

Questions

Questions About Water Projects

Has ZAWF installed wells or filtration plants?

We have not reported any such projects. This page describes a goal. If that changes, we will share documented details here.

Can our organization partner on a water project?

Yes, we would welcome that conversation. Projects would be scoped after assessing community needs, technical feasibility, local oversight and funding.

What We’d Want to Know First

A water point that breaks after a year doesn’t solve much. Before we’d ask anyone to fund a project, we’d want clear answers to some practical questions.

Questions Each Project Must Answer

  • Who needs water here, and where do they get it today?
  • Has the water been tested by someone qualified?
  • What approvals or land permissions are needed?
  • Who will look after it, and who pays for repairs?
  • Will everyone in the community have fair access?

What Partners Can Expect

If we move forward with a partner, we’d aim to share an assessment, a realistic budget and a plan for reporting progress. If a project doesn’t look sustainable, we’d rather say so than go ahead anyway.

How It Connects to Our Other Work

Water isn’t separate from the rest of a family’s life. Children who are unwell miss learning, which is why this priority is closely tied to our education work and our wider programs.

Can I donate toward a well today?

Please talk with us first. There isn’t an approved water project to fund yet, and we don’t want to accept a gift for something that isn’t ready.

Do you have water project experience?

We would value your advice and partnership as we plan.
